Cursed village is an action defense game where you defend yourself against incoming waves of zombies. While the entire world is overrun with zombies, you are holding the last stand and trying to keep them on the other side of the barricades. There is no option to run or hide. Fight against zombies is inevitable.
Is this game scary?
Most zombie shooter games are not scary. So, I can't say that for this one either, or that it's filled with jumpscares. The point here is tension, because you are constantly under siege, surrounded, and being attacked from every direction by your zombified neighbours. Even if you cut their bodies in half, hit them in the stomach, zombies get up and keep coming. If you add great music background, perfect graphic design, you get super fun and somewhat scary zombie game, but not in a horror way scary. Although the scenes are not too realistic, they are perhaps just a bit more 'bloody' than they usually are.
How to play
First you choose your weapon and then you go and kill zombies. There is a minimum kill count you need to reach to pass the level. That is how you move the battlefield from the streets into a hospital and then through other rooms on the map. Killing zombies brings you points, you then convert those points into money, use that money to buy weapons, upgrade those you already have or pay 'the helpers'. Controls are simple: shoot using mouse, number keys are for switching weapons.
20 types of weapons
The best part of the game is the possibility of changing weapons, because you have 20 types in total. You can literally experiment and try to find the most fun and most effective way to kill a zombie. You can gore it using katana sword, cut its head with an axe, use plain pistol, or just simply blow up a bunch of zombies with dynamite. What else to say but, fantastic!
