House Of Fear - Point And Click Game - Blow Up The Ghost House

Sometimes the only way to get rid of all house ghosts and monsters is to blow the damn place up into a million pieces.

House Of Fear is one of the most complex and most complete point and click games with horror theme that I have ever played. It's really that good. I mean there are few downsides, mostly in the area when finding hidden and usable objects because these won't change the cursor shape or color to make an indication of their presence, you know when you hover above them, but it's still really really good game.

What's it about? It's basically a break in kind of game because you start the adventure outside the house, trying to get inside. The house is packed with ghosts and monsters, so the idea is to break in somehow, solve all the puzzles and mysteries inside, find the sticks of dynamite and use it to blow up the whole place of course after you make your way out.

Despite all the monsters you see there, this is not really a scary game, most probably because the accent is given on puzzle solving, opening locked doors and safes and so on, so you don't worry too much about jumpscares from the dark. It's simply not that kind of game. The horror motive is just a background and you most probably won't feel frightened at any time at all. I mean, just observing a dead body or a skeleton is not scary, I mean, not unless it suddenly moves - but it won't, no worries.

And I must add that this isn't typical point and click game because at some point you even hold a shotgun and you can use it to blast the monster. The inventory is huge, and it holds up to 24 items. The biggest problem is that used items won't disappear, so you can't tell whether you should expect them to be rescued or not, which makes solving much harder.
