Cube Escape by Rusty Lake: Case 23

Case 23 is a logic puzzle that seize up your memories into a cube floating on the lake's surface.

While doing a review for this game I've managed to confuse the walkthrough videos. Instead of watching 'Case 23' I was looking at the 'Seasons'. The first game in the series was called 'The Lake' and they all are very similar to each other but don't get me wrong. In general, the whole series really stands out of what we used to see and play in room escape genre. They all share that old and rusty tone of creepiness and nostalgia. And they all are perfectly well executed with flawless navigation and original artwork.

Regarding the gameplay, you play as a homicide detective stepping at the murder scene and starting your investigation adventure. The game is organized in 4 stages: stepping at the crime scene, taking the investigation, "The Chappel", and "The Cabin" (by the lake, of course).

When I say creepy, I mean things like murder scene with a girl laying dead on the floor - creepy, with lots of bugs crawling out of her mouth, babuska doll with a knife and things like that. You will occasionally be jumpscared, but don't expect nothing major, just a cheap scare to keep your tension level up.

In the end, you should reach the lake and like things were not confusing enough according to the closing sentence - your memories will be captured inside little cubes floating on the lake surface.
