The Hood - Episode 1: The Witch Hunt Begins

The Hood is a series of flash games about mr Wolf who's been hired by the villagers to hunt down and persecute an alleged witch.

The author of the series is Hyptosis, a one-man firm who made Red Oz Part 1. The idea of having another little red riding hood spin-off turned into a new series which is 'The Hood', which in turn, became another big series called 'Alice is Dead'. So obviously Hyptosis abonded the initial idea of having red riding hood series, and continued on with just a 'hood' which is basically about a witch hunt.

This first part is only introductory, and later I will add rest of the games. Here you get to know the basic storyline, the main characters mr Wolf and a girl who's been accused for witchcraft (Cameron). You don't get to see her because she's missing and mr Wolf is trailing her sense, asking about her among the villagers and doing his own investigation. This is a moment when you get to meet the Alchemist, Lady Marian, The Elder, Ettlethorne, Elem the knight guy who is always drunk, and these are characters you will see throughout the rest of the series. White rabbit also appears in this episode, but that's just because it grew out of Red Oz, and it'll disappear later.

Note that this is not action horror game with jumpscares and everything, but a simple point and click game with just a taste of horror, more like creepy atmosphere and nothing else. At some point a demon will appear, if that counts, but it'll turn out that the demon is just a big machine you will investigate in the next part. Anyway, there are some real demons in the game. They are called shadows, and you will meet them also later throughout the series.

The central character is mr Wolf. He's not actually just a wolf, but some mythical creature that looks like a wolf, probably half human or God - half wolf. It's something from Norse mythology - Fenrir is his name. Anyway, this guy is really suspicious about villagers' claims which he does not take for granted and first he wants to make sure himself that the girl really is a witch. Some folks, like Marian, have directly accused Cameron of making a pact with 'the shadows' but that all is yet to be investigated.
