The Last Door - Teaser
The Last Door is a flash horror adventure which features its main characters in a low 8-bit resolution. It is an experimental project, launched in march 2013 on the portal called kickstarter.com, where the group of programmers/developers under the name of The Game Kitchen started to collect funds to finance an unknown series of completely new indie game.
The idea obviously appealed to gamers, and today we have 4 chapters. The Last Door: Prologue is just a brief intro into the series, playable teaser and made with an idea to introduce the concept of the game to the future players, its atmosphere, rules and basic controls. This Prologue was also used in a promotional campaign.
Overall, it is point and click game, where the main hero takes on a role of a detective who investigates murderers, missing persons or paranormal activities. The atmosphere is usually wrapped up in a veil of mystery, very tense, with an excellent classical (orchestral) music theme in the background which takes you far back into the last century. This very music is completely original because it was specially composed for this game by Carlos Viola.
Besides prologue, we have 4 chapters and they are: The Letter (Pilot Chapter), Memories, The Four Witnesses, Ancient Shadows (under development). In the preparation is chapter 5 which is made together with the participation of players who can give their own suggestions and donations on the official forum of this game called thelastdoor.com. The games are usually free but developers give rewards to the biggest donors through the special features of the game. The most loyal fans get their own characters and they appear in the special chapter of the game called Hall of Fame. Almost all chapters are free but registration on the official site is necessary. If the game is well accepted here too we will add the rest of the chapters here at Crazy Scary Games too.
The Last Door Concept
The original thing about The Last Door is that the gamer must use his/her imagination and thus take more proactive part in the game itself. There are no details here, the size of the pixel is enlarged and thus made the void which should be filled by the gamer using his/her imagination. The best part is that every player can subjectively experience the game and adapt it according to his/her desires. The main idea is to create the community around this game which will then using the forum attract even more players. The Last Door is made in flash technology and for now there will be no development for mobile phones or tablets.
